Gallatin Avenue Concerned Citizens Association

The focus area of the Gallatin Avenue Concerned Citizens Association (GACCA) is outlined on the attached map. The formation of the GACCA is an outgrowth of meetings held in 2003 and 2004 where the Gallatin Avenue Neighborhood Elm Street Revitalization Plan was developed. The state approved the plan and designated the Gallatin Avenue neighborhood as an Elm Street community, which provides the funding to hire an Elm Street Manager. In conjunction with the GACCA, the RACU has been working to implement the state approved multi-point plan:

  1. Safe, Clean and Green -- this would cover, community clean-ups, working with the police, etc.
  2. Image and Identity -- this would be all of our PR activities: Car Show, Community Festival, Newsletter, etc.
  3. Design -- this would concern the proposed streetscape enhancements, the proposed Sheepskin Trail, etc. Also a link to www.co.fayette.pa.us would be nice since they are working on the trail.
  4. Neighbors and Economy -- this can cover the proposed new housing, and perhaps list businesses in the Elm St. neighborhood
  5. Sustainable Organization -- this would concern GACCA's organization: when meetings are held, who are the officers, etc.
