Construction is also underway on Phase I of the new for-sale, single-family, detached homes on Maple Street. The RACU is working with Threshold Housing on the first 3 of 10 homes that are to be constructed.

Mark Yaugar, Executive Director of the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Uniontown stated that: "It took a while to get to this point because grant funding had to be accessed, properties acquired and homes demolished". We are very excited about being underway. The city played a critical role in this process, demolishing all of the homes. We are happy to see that this will result in something positive for the community".

John Oris, Chairman of the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Uniontown's Board of Directors said: "They're beautifying the neighborhood. The (demolished) homes were deteriorating and falling apart. These houses are designed to fit into the neighborhood. They should be very desirable to own."

Buyers of the homes will be able to earn higher than average incomes and will still be eligible for special financing: a family of 1 will be able to earn up to $50,715 annually, while a family of 2 can earn $57,960 and a family of 4, $72,450.

Construction has begun on the 36-unit Uniontown Senior Citizen Apartment building and on 3 new single-family for-sale homes in the Gallatin Avenue neighborhood!
